Terrence Heath on Robert Murray
Saturday November 5, 2011 @ 2pm

Barbara Edwards Contemporary is pleased to present independent writer and curator Terrence Heath discussing our recent exhibition of work by Robert Murray. Considered one of the most significant sculptors of his generation, Murray's metal relief sculptures and select works on paper explore his formal intrigue with the topography of rural North America.

Terrence Heath has curated, reviewed, and written catalogue essays for art gallery exhibitions across Canada. He has served on the board of the Centre for Canadian Contemporary Art and the Ontario College of Art. Heath was Executive-Director of the Western Development Museum, Director of the Winnipeg Art Gallery, and most recently organized a touring retrospective exhibition on the works of sculptor Joe Fafard for the Mackenzie Art Gallery and the National Gallery of Canada (2007). He has written a number of books, including biographies on Canadian artists Ernest Lindner and Joe Fafard, and his short stories and poems appear regularly in various literary magazines.

Reception to follow.

Please RSVP as space is limited.
